Frequently Asked Questions &
Application Instructions:
Why do you need so much information? Lakeshore
Nannies will review your profile in depth to try to match your background
and requirements with the right family. Most of our clients have at
least one parent in the corporate world. Our clients expect to work
with agencies and nannies that are professional. The information you
provide will be validated and used to create a professional resume or Nanny
Profile.
What is a Personal Comment? This is a
brief introduction or "bio" on you. This will be used in the profile
that Lakeshore Nannies presents to families. This your chance to tell
us and a prospective family a little more about yourself.
What is Discipline Philosophy? This is
your way of handling a challenging situation with a child that is showing
inappropriate behavior such as not listening to directions, not sharing,
etc.
What is Education Details? Please list any
details on your education. Such as: CLC, Early Childhood Education.
Why do I need to list my Employment Details online?
Lakeshore Nannies receives numerous candidates online. The more
information that you give us helps us match you with the right family.
For example, if you make a note that you cared for infant twins, your
profile might look very appealing to a new family having twins.
Why do you need to know if I want to bringing children? Are you planning on
bringing children of your own to work with you? We have some families
that would like their children receive more socialization and would love for
the nanny to bring their child. There are other families that do not
allow a nanny to bring her children to work. Please note that most
families are not comfortable with this situation.
Why do you need to know if I have pet allergies?
Several of our clients have pets. Cat allergies seem to be the
most common. We do not want to expose to unnecessarily to situations
that would aggravate your allergies.
Why do you want to know what languages I speak?
All nannies must be able to speak English well. However, many families
consider it a plus if a nanny speaks multiple languages.
Why do you need to know if I have medical
restrictions? We need to know if you have any limitations in
caring for children. For example, if you cannot lift over 15 pounds,
we cannot place you in a situation where the position requires you to lift a
child over 15 pounds. That is not fair to you and is not safe for a
small child to be in a situation where a caregiver cannot lift him or her.
References: Lakeshore Nannies needs to
have at least 3 references on file that have seen you with children.
Please make sure that these are references that are available to speak with
us. Note: Lakeshore Nannies cannot accept references that are related to
you.

Child Experience and Activities? Please list the number of years
experience you have with this age group under Experience. Please list
all age-appropriate activities that you would do with this age group under

for families. It is usually better to include several activities that
you would do with each age group.
